When a berlese funnel extraction was carried out on the roots of some dead specimens of young Olea
europaea from a recently planted olive grove in Valls (Tarragona), sixty specimens of a small anophthalmic
osoriine belonging to the genus Leptotyphlopsis were collected. Leptotyphlopsis espanyoli n. sp. is distinguished
from the rest of the species in the genus by its body shape and above all by the aedeagus and its internal
