Resum
In studies investigating heavy metal contamination in the bodies of coleopterans and lepidopterans preserved in museum collections,
questions often arise about whether the source of contamination is environmental or related to the chemicals used in their capture,
preparation or preservation.This study documents the techniques and chemical products employed at the Zoological Museum of
Barcelona between 1939 and 1989. The resulting records provide written evidence that can aid in determining the origin of pollutants.
