| Abstract: | The discovery in Catalonia of the Pyralinae Synaphe diffidalis (Guenée, 1854) is reported and the systematic status and the known distribution of the taxon in the Iberian Peninsula are reviewed on the basis of previous records from the literature and the examination of the material deposited in several public and private collections. Obraztsov’s (1952) criterion is confirmed concerning the taxon castillalis Guenée, 1854,which is considered a synonym of Synaphe diffidalis (Guenée, 1854) without subspecific validity.
