Abstract: Induced vibrations in museum spaces may have undesirable effects on works or samples displayed in them. The goal of this paper is to present the study of the effect of vibrations in skeletons of vertebrates exposed in the Museu Blau (Natural Science Museum of Barcelona) and the design of effective solutions to reduce them. To this end, two main sources of vibration were considered: impacts of visitors on the showcases when they observe the samples and vibration generated by the movement of these visitors walking around the museum. Finally a relationship is established according to the "visual criteria" between vibration level and movement of exposed skeletons. This work is included within the framework of collaboration with the Collections Department of the Natural Science Museum of Barcelona.
